TULUM CAVES TOUR:

Join us for an amazing day and visit two of the Riviera Maya main attractions.

Your first stop is the archaeological site of Tulum. A definite must see during your stay, these ruins are a former Mayan trade site located on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Mexican Caribbean Sea. Your expert guide will take you around and explain all about the Mayan culture and Tulum’s rich history.

Following the guided tour, you’ll have some free time to roam around by yourself or refresh yourself in the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Our second stop is a mystical underground river located in the heart of the jungle.
Discover the Mayan underworld accompanied by our knowledgeable guides. Swim in crystal clear water through caves and tunnels and admire ancient rock formations. The impressive stalactites and stalagmites, some more than a million years old, will leave you breathless.

We’ll wrap this amazing day up with a delicious, beachside lunch and some well-deserved rest and relaxation before returning to your hotel to enjoy the rest of your day.

Q. Do I need to be able to swim?

A. Yes, you must have basic swimming skills. It is important to be able to swim or float without a lifejacket.

Q. What if I have never snorkeled before?

A. No problem, our snorkel guides will show you how to use the equipment and take you to the best locations.

Q. Do you have prescription masks?

A. Yes, please notify an Adventure Advisor at the time of booking for your tour.

Q. Do you provide snorkeling gear?

A. Yes. We provide clean lifejackets, snorkels, masks and fins.

Q. Can I use sunscreen?

A. We do not recommend using sunscreen because it contains chemicals that can contaminate the cave and harm its fragile ecosystem. If you need sunscreen, please purchase only sunscreen labeled “biodegradable” and apply at least 20 minutes before entering the water.

Q. Is the life jacket mandatory?

A. Yes – life jackets are mandatory at all times while you are in the water.

Q. How deep are the cenotes and what temperature is the water?

A. The average temperature is 25°C (77°F). The depth varies greatly from one section to another. You will always have a life jacket and you will be accompanied by your guide.

Q. Is there wheelchair access?

A. It is possible, however it is not recommended because the floor is uneven, rocky, and there are areas without wheelchair ramps.

Q. Is it possible to swim at the beach found in the ruins?

A. Yes. At the end of the tour, you will have free time and can swim at the beach (except when sea conditions do not allow it).

Q. Is there a cost to bring cameras?

A. Non-professional cameras are permitted at no cost. Video cameras, GoPro, tablets and selfie sticks have a charge, which is paid directly at the box office. The use of professional photography equipment is strictly prohibited – including tripods.

Q. What if it rains?

A. We have umbrellas available for sun and/or rain.

Q. Is there a charge for children?

A. Yes, child pricing applies to kids ages 8 – 11years.
